Perhaps most remarkable was the fact that some of these improvements persisted for weeks after the treatment, even though the psychedelic effects themselves had long since worn off.
To be clear, this was not a cure for Alzheimer’s disease.
The patient continued to live with dementia, and the improvements gradually diminished over time. More importantly, the findings come from a single case study involving one individual.

Scientists have become increasingly interested in the potential neurological effects of psychedelics.
